VE Studio 2020.1 Release

DiSTI has deployed a new global release of its VE Studio software development platform. Focusing on the enhancement of the student training experience while providing beneficial insights and metric data for the instructor, VE Studio 2020.1 is a milestone in virtual maintenance training software.

“In this release, we aimed to further modernized VE Studio by expanding its training capability and utilizing features offered in newer versions of Unity and 3ds Max,” explained Brian Montalvo, VE Studio Product Owner.

We know that training encompasses more than just teaching students what to do. Sometimes the most beneficial lessons come from encountering what not to do in a situational environment. For this reason, the VE Studio development team has now made it possible to introduce Hazardous Conditions in training lessons. Utilizing hazardous conditions can prepare students for circumstances that may cause harm to themselves, the equipment, or even result in death.

When a student performs an incorrect movement or procedure, the setting of the hazardous conditions will freeze the student’s screen, alerting them to the error, and notifying the instructor of what mistake took place. This feature allows students to learn to recognize hazards and correct them. Completely customizable and simulation-driven, it enables students to understand best safety practices and expectations, while providing teachable moments for the instructors.

VE Studio 2020.1 Features

VE Studio’s Trainer Utilization update tracks beneficial system metrics such as:

  • System uptime
  • Frequency of lesson usage
  • Training engagement
  • Time spent on lessons
  • Number of lesson failures

This data allows for a greater understanding of student performance, lesson efficacy, gaps in comprehension, and areas for improvement.

The new VE Studio update also features complete support for Unity 2019.2. Users will now be able to leverage the improved and expanded the toolsets for mobile, lighting, 2D, XR, and many other areas provided in Unity 2019.2.

Our development team has also upgraded VE Studio to support 3ds Max 2020. Training experiences can now take advantage of 3ds Max’s professional-quality 3D animations, renders, and models, allowing for the creation of better 3D content in less time.

As the global leader in virtual training solutions, DiSTI is proud to work hard and continue our commitment of providing a superior software development platform with VE Studio 2020.1 for our customers. For the complete list of VE Studio 2020.1 features visit the following link:
